Urge Congress to Protect The Federal Commitment to Education
Due to the drastic reduction in force recently enacted at the U.S. Department of Education and the executive order issued on March 20, 2025, to dismantle the federal role in education, ASCA is asking you to contact your members of Congress to urge them to protect the federal commitment to education.

The administration’s actions severely impede the federal government’s ability to carry out congressionally authorized services for K-12 students. These include

  • civil rights protections for students and school staff
  • administration of the FAFSA program
  • the ability to ensure accountability for federally funded programs such as Title I and IDEA, and
  • collection and reporting of national data on the education workforce and student performance.

Contact your members of Congress and urge them to ensure students and educators continue to have access to these critical  resources, services and protections.  You may also personalize this message with any specific examples.
