Early reinvigorated Congressional interest in value-based, patient-centered care in 2026 has given us an ideal opportunity to highlight ROCR and urge support for HR.2120/S.1031 the Radiation Oncology Case Rate Value Based Program Act. Now is the time for lawmakers to cosponsor ROCR and encourage the committees of jurisdiction to incorporate the policy into larger Medicare payment reforms taking shape. 

WHY NOW: Medicare payment for radiation therapy services is broken and needs immediate reform because the status quo is unsustainable. ROCR will provide relief from both further cuts and decouple payments from volume, supporting high quality of care. 

ROCR is a viable payment reform proposal that would increase access to care, improve the quality of cancer treatment, reduce disparities for rural and underserved patients, encourage innovation, and lower Medicare spending and patient costs.
