The Autism Society of America is joining other disability advocacy groups across the country in a National Call-In Day opposing moving the administration of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) from the U.S. Department of Education to a different federal agency. While there is not an announced date for this move, federal officials have indicated their intent to make this change.
You can help by calling your U.S. Senators and Representatives using the script provided to urge them to tell the U.S. Department of Education not to move special education programs such as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) out of the Education Department. (Please call rather than email to have the most impact on this call-in day!).
