NIH Issues Cap to Indirect Cost Rates at 15%

NIH Issues Cap to Indirect Cost Rates at 15%

On Friday, February 7, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) issued Supplemental Guidance to the 2024 NIH Grants Policy Statement on Indirect Cost Rates. This new Guidance sets a standard rate of 15% on Indirect Costs for all current grants for go forward expenses from February 10 onward and for all new grants.

BPS is extremely concerned by the issuance of new Guidance without the ability for researchers in the academic community to provide comment and context on the impact that significant change will have on new and existing research efforts.
