Invest in the U.S. Scientific Research Endeavor for FY27
While we have only just completed funding for fiscal year (FY) 2026, federal appropriators are already starting work on FY27 ahead of the official President’s Budget Request (PBR) ahead of its expected release in the next several weeks.

While Congress resoundingly rejected the drastic cuts proposed in the 2026 PBR, speculation persists that the scientific community could again be subjected to similar cost-cutting proposals for FY27.

It is imperative that Congress put forward a robust, predictable federal budget for the agencies funding scientific research – the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Science Foundation (NSF), and the Department of Energy Office of Science.
