Tell Sacramento: Stop Withholding $3.9 Billion from California's Students
In the May Revise, California's Governor has proposed withholding $3.9 billion in Proposition 98 funds from public schools — money that is constitutionally guaranteed and already belongs to our students.

This is not a "budget maneuver." For California's families, it is a broken promise. That $643 per student is a school counselor our kids won't see. It's a special education service delayed. It's one teacher doing the work of two in an overcrowded classroom.

Proposition 98 was passed by California voters in 1988 and written into our state Constitution because voters understood that stable, predictable public school funding is worth protecting. It is not optional. It is the law.

The June 15 budget deadline is approaching. Contact your state legislators and Governor Newsom now — urge them to reject this withholding and fully fund California's public schools.
