Keep All Education Programs in the U.S. Department of Education
On November 18, the Administration announced six interagency agreements transferring management of most K-12 and postsecondary education programs from the Department of Education to other federal agencies.  While they have not yet acted, as proposed earlier, on sending management of the IDEA to the Department of Health and Human Services, CASE is still expecting an announcement to this effect.

Particularly, Republican Senators need to hear from you NOW. The Senate Labor-HHS-Education appropriations bill will be finalized over the next week, and we want to see language in the bill that prohibits moving education programs to other agencies!! ALL members of Congress need to understand why this is bad policy and will increase – rather than streamline – bureaucracy and program management for states and local school districts!
