A world based on dirty fossil fuel energy enriches and empowers dictators like Putin and bin Salman. It corrupts many of our politicians.. Now the dirty energy companies are trying to use the Ukraine war to line their pockets even more. It’s time we did the opposite and start putting them out of business.

President Biden has the power to use this crisis for good, by declaring a national climate emergency and super-charging our move to clean, renewable energy. In addition, he will be making good on campaign promises that have thus far been stymied in Congress.  The Congressional Progressive Caucus put together a list of requested actions including these (see pg 5 in the sources).  We need him to act now.

This action asks Congress to show their commitment to putting meaningful Climate Change Action forward.  We need them to know we are paying attention and intend to use our votes wisely in each of the 4 remaining elections in the time science tells us we need to make significant changes.
