Trees can help us save energy by cooling our communities in hot weather and blocking winter winds. The cooling effect can save lives during heat waves - the most deadly form of extreme weather. Unfortunately, the people who need them most often have the least. This bill would plant at least 300,000 trees a year in residential neighborhoods through 2026. The top priority would be low wealth communities and communities with low tree canopy and heat island issues.
