Climate Action Now

Ethanol - it’s a bad deal.
We are basically paying for ethanol twice, once through out taxpayer dollars, and then again at the pump. This happened through policy decisions  at the national level made by our representatives in Washington. Now that the evidence is in, that ethanol is even worse than gasoline regarding emissions that drive global warming we need to let our representatives know so they can discontinue these subsidies. Plus ethanol is hard on the engines of our cars. Isn’t it time to step off this subsidy and use the money instead to build out the solar farms that we will need and and also to update our electricity grid so that it becomes more efficient. Did you know that “at this point in the US, grids are so poorly maintained and designed that they waste 65% of the energy put into them.” The Sea is Rising and So are We, a Climate Justice handbook by Cynthia Kaufman Chapter 4, page   64.
