The USDA Farm Bill is up for its five-year renewal in 2023. Its biggest program is SNAP or the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. There are a couple ways that we can support healthy diets for low-income SNAP recipients, including through the Produce Prescription program and the Double Up Food Bucks program. This is a great way to reach legislators interested in supporting local farmers (purchases are often from local producers), poverty, health, and/or climate.
