For now, the construction of the Formosa Plastic Plant has been delayed. But, it is still being considered. If the project goes forward it will double the toxic pollution in the area and even the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner on Human Rights has condemned it, calling it an egregious example of environmental racism.
We need everyone concerned about the Climate Crisis to help us get the message across that we are done poisoning our environment, and especially in solidarity with some of our disadvantaged communities who have already seen too many toxic impacts up close and personal. It will take all of us working together to ensure none of us are sidelined in the Climate Crisis we face, especially those of us already in disadvantaged communities.
