Tiny beads of plastic called "nurdles" seem to be found everywhere we look -- from our oceans and rivers to the soil that grows our food. Making matters worse, there are zero regulations in place to prevent these small building blocks of plastic products from entering our waterways during the manufacturing process. The Plastic Pellet Free Waters Act would change that by requiring that the EPA establish rules that prevent the discharge of leakage pellets into waterways.
