The unique landscapes of the Western United States are threatened by natural disasters, including drought and wildfires, that are worsening due to climate change. The future of these forest, grassland, and rangeland habitats home to thousands of native species are in dire need of protection. The Protect the West Act of 2023 would provide $60 billion in funding for the protection and restoration of these areas, while creating green jobs to support local economies.
