According to leading expert Dr. Robert Howarth at Cornell, LNG leaks profusely at every stage of the supply chain, releasing methane - a super-warming gas that is 80 times more potent than CO2 over a 10-year period. Because of this, his research concluded that LNG is as bad or WORSE for the climate than burning coal!

Under the Biden Administration, the U.S. has made powerful progress on climate and on methane in particular. The new EPA rules on oil and gas well capping, landfill methane, and food waste proposed at COP28 are exciting steps forward. However, if we build even ONE new LNG terminal, it will cancel out ALL these gains.

And if we build all of nearly two dozen LNG terminals currently proposed, our hopes of meeting the Paris climate targets are essentially finished.

On February 6th, a wave of climate activists will arrive in Washington, DC to demonstrate against the approval of the CP2 LNG terminal. Let's let our leaders know we stand with these protesters in demanding an end to the runaway buildout of planet-wrecking LNG!
