Studies show that – contrary to industry claims – transporting LNG abroad generates significantly more planet-warming emissions than burning coal. We can't afford to approve new infrastructure guaranteed to accelerate climate change.
New facilities would not come online for years which would not help nations to break free of their dependence on Russian gas. With many partners already turning to renewables, adding more LNG facilities only serves to boost industry profits.
The American people understand this. As your constituent, I'm calling on you to use your office to support the administration's pause on new LNG export facilities and work to speed a just transition to clean energy for the nation.
