The time has come to use more than the business as usual approach. Extraordinary approaches like harnessing the energies of the myriads of climate organizations that have sprung up in response to the crisis in a coordinated effort are called for. Not unlike the extraordinary effort to use hundreds of small boats to evacuate hundreds of thousands of trapped soldiers after the Battle of Dunkirk, these climate organizations can be mobilized to complete singular missions which together can accelerate our progress in reducing emissions and adapting to the continuing impacts.
Government can be a great convener of stakeholders and builder of plans. Now we need it, at all levels, to help us work together to implement those plans.
