I urge you to support the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act (HR 5744) to help speed our transition to carbon-free energy and achieve our emissions reduction goal of 50% by 2030.
 
The bill levies a fee on the carbon content of fuels and returns these fees to every American as a carbon dividend so families can cushion against the effects of temporary cost increases associated with the transition to clean energy.  

The bill also imposes a tariff on fossil fuels and carbon intensive imported goods to ensure these goods don't undercut incentives for US companies to reduce their carbon footprint.
