Research also indicates that coordinating collective solutions to complex problems like climate change can rely on the perception of how most others feel in a social group. So it is critical for us to close the perception gap on climate change in order to move forward with the solutions we need. Further, Americans, especially younger voters, but significantly at all ages, approve of the actions taken to address climate change by the Biden Administration but in many cases are not aware of or understand the number of these actions. Younger voters also may not recall enough about the Trump Administration's actions to compare them to the Biden Administration.
Our leaders in both public and private sectors must help us close the perception gap by sharing the research and talking about what has been and must be done to address climate change, often and everywhere, especially in this election year which is "make or break" for our ability to keep the Paris Agreement's 1.5° C global warming goal alive.
