Climate Action Now

Tell your members of Congress to protect natural carbon sequestration now
There is no path to a climate-safe future without natural carbon sequestration, but according to preliminary findings from a team of scientists, natural carbon sequestration on the planet's lands may have collapsed in 2023. (The Guardian 10/14/24)

There appear to be signs that the ocean's natural carbon sequestration could be reaching its limits, too.

All of our climate models are counting on natural carbon sequestration continuing -- without it, global warming will greatly accelerate.

Until we know more, we must act immediately to protect our natural carbon sequestration by putting a stop to deforestation and destructive land use. We should also prioritize research around additional actions we can take to protect and improve the natural carbon sequestration of our lands and bodies of water.

Please help ensure that our congressional and executive leaders act now!
