Climate Action Now

Tell your members of Congress to join the UN's biodiversity protocols
With the 16th UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 16) being held in the Americas this October, it is extremely disappointing that the U.S. has not yet decided to participate.

Recent hurricanes and other natural disasters strengthened by climate change are having major impacts on wildlife. Given that climate change has been greatly exacerbated by U.S. actions, it is all the more important that we step up and not only take part, but help to lead biodiversity protection efforts.

Biodiversity provides many benefits for survival here on Earth, and among them may be ways to protect and improve natural carbon sequestration. This is particularly important in light of the signs that there were collapses in the ability of the planet's lands to absorb CO2 in 2023.

Please help ensure that our congressional and executive leaders take the necessary steps to ensure that the U.S. joins the UN's biodiversity protocols and works to meet the commitments therein.
