The science is clear: we must cut greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030 to avoid the worst climate outcomes. Corporations must not only commit to meeting their share of greenhouse gas emission reductions but also to achieving the world's emission reductions as a whole.

One thing they can do in service of this goal is help depolarize strong action on climate change. We can't afford to let partisan politics prevent us from taking necessary action. Since climate change affects all of us and corporations need customers -- regardless of political party -- it is in our best interests to find a way to depolarize climate change as an issue and depolarize the strong actions needed to address it. These include speeding up the clean energy transition, supporting natural carbon sequestration, ramping up adaptation efforts, and more. It's high time we had a mantra of joining together to address a common goal, rather than one of overcoming or "owning" the opposition.

Many corporations have the resources to advocate for and support these efforts, helping to ensure a strong focus on getting the job done during this transitionary period. We do not have time to waste. Please encourage these corporations to step up for everyone's sake.
