Tell Congress to stop the sabotage of U.S. clean energy!
Clean energy is on track to provide 93% of new power-generating capacity to be built in the U.S. in 2025 — but we could be building much more if it wasn’t for political sabotage.

Tell Congress to stop the sabotage of U.S. clean energy!

Despite increasingly brazen sabotage efforts and senseless stop-work orders, the U.S. is still on track to build a record-high amount of clean energy in 2025! (Though it really needs to be much more. Higher electricity demand plus artificial limits on cleantech buildout mean that power prices are rising rapidly). The EIA reports that 12 GW (12,000 MW) of new solar power joined the grid in the first half of 2025, and 21 GW more are forecast to come online in the second half. By the end of 2025, the U.S. is forecast to have installed 33 GW of new solar, 18 GW of new battery storage, and 7.8 GW of new wind power — and just 4.7 GW of new fossil gas.

Clean energy is on track to provide 93% of new power-generating capacity to be built in the U.S. in 2025 (with over 50% from solar alone!) as natural gas proves unworkably expensive and slow.

The current wait time for buying gas power plant turbines in the U.S. is seven years, so if you want to build a new gas plant now, the earliest that it’ll be producing power is 2032! Unlike sunlight, gas is a fuel with highly volatile prices: U.S. natural gas prices are expected to double from 2024 to 2026.

Even with a stacked deck propping up fossil fuels, economics means that clean energy is all that anyone wants to build. But China and the rest of the world show that we could be building vastly more, much faster.

China built 212 GW of new solar capacity in January-June 2025, while the U.S. built 12 GW!

There’s a historic clean energy building boom happening around the world, and Congress needs to override executive sabotage to ensure that America gets a piece of the action.

Hold up nominees, include riders in must-pass bills, insist on red lines in budget negotiations — whatever it takes. It is insane to be adding red tape for solar on public lands and pointlessly shutting down nearly-complete offshore wind farms at a time of rising power prices, especially when it’s so painfully clear that we could be building a super-abundance of clean and reliable solar, wind, and batteries!

Tell Congress to stop the sabotage of U.S. clean energy!
