Tariffs are not only increasing the cost of living for households across the country, but contributing to sky-high electricity prices. With tariffs on aluminum, steel, and other materials, the cost of transmission line construction and maintenance is going up, and tariffs on energy from Canada and Mexico are increasing prices while jeopardizing energy agreements. As a result, more and more costs are being passed on to ratepayers —a troubling trend that’s expected to continue.
