On October 1st, the Department of Energy announced the cancellation of $7.6 billion in approved funding for more than 200 energy-related projects, impacting a total of 16 states.
The fact that the first round of cancellations only affects blue states is already a cause for concern. But even if this wasn’t an act of political retribution, terminating these grants isout of step with legal precedent and in violation of the Impoundment Control Act.
