With climate change driving more frequent and intense flooding, droughts, and extreme weather, the Improving Flood and Agricultural Forecasts Act of 2025 would give forecasting a much-need boost. Specifically, this bill would strengthen the National Mesonet Program (NMP) by setting new requirements around weather and environmental observations, supporting better forecasting that in turn supports farmers, communities, and emergency responders.
