Alt-protein production is already supporting thousands of jobs domestically. Scaling up will not only continue to bolster job creation, but increase farmer profits by looping them into protein diversification and security efforts. It will also help meet growing consumer demand for alternative sources of protein, which, unlike red meat, do not contribute to cardiovascular disease or have an outsized water, land, or emissions footprint.
