Urge your members of Congress to support a windfall profits tax
As a result of the war’s impact on the global economy, U.S. LNG exports are expected to generate as much as $4 billion in windfall profits in just a single month. Meanwhile, Americans are already spending an additional $200 million on gasoline per day, which is expected to increase as the war continues.

This isn’t the first time this has happened, either. In other major instances of global disruption, including the COVID-19 pandemic and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, we’ve seen this exact pattern—and rather than return even a fraction of these profits to the American people, oil and gas company CEOs and shareholders have kept the money and continued to report record profits.
