Tell your federal representatives about one Senate candidate’s progressive energy plan
Graham Platner, a U.S. Senate candidate, recently pitched a multi-step energy plan with the power to bolster energy security and affordability. In it, he proposes a series of solutions to address rising energy costs, including:

- Eliminating the federal gas and diesel taxes, and supporting the Highway Trust Fund with a billionaire wealth tax instead;
- Establishing a windfall profits tax for large oil companies;
- Implementing a national rate freeze or reduction, which could be funded by repurposing existing fossil fuel subsidies;
- Creating a National Energy Infrastructure Fund to fund clean energy projects; and
- Establishing a home electrification and weatherization program.
