Phone your federal representatives and urge them to pay for a gas tax holiday with a Big Oil windfall profits tax
Gas prices have increased by over 50% since the war on Iran started. As more and more Americans are priced out of their primary form of transportation, Congress is considering a gas tax holiday to address skyrocketing prices—but doing so risks devastating the Highway Trust Fund, and will do nothing to stop oil companies from reaping record profits.

A windfall profits tax on large oil companies—specifically, a per-barrel charge that’s a percent of the price differential between oil this year and last year—would help prevent companies from profiting at the public’s expense, while generating sufficient revenue to support the Highway Trust Fund throughout the federal gas tax holiday.
