The restaurant community, non-profits, and other employer groups worked to achieve the biggest legal reform in decades in California by significantly reforming the state’s Private Attorney Generals Act (PAGA). Last May, there was an effort to unravel this win — and we beat it. Now, there is yet another attempt to upend those reforms, and we need YOUR help in the days ahead. 

SB 310 (Wiener) will likely generate a flurry of frivolous lawsuits, a stunning about-face from the 2024 laws designed to curb litigation abuse. It would create a new pathway for trial attorneys to exploit penalties as leverage in meritless cases.

SB 310 will face a vote by the end of this week on the Senate Floor.
