Help Support Restaurant Regulatory Reform!

Hello Restaurant Friends,

Please join us today to amplify our statewide work to address restaurant regulatory pain-points.

AB 1915 (Gabriel) will face a key vote this week and will modernize restaurant permitting, particularly when it comes to like-for-like equipment swaps.

AB 1915 is a measure that cuts through outdated and unnecessary regulations to help alleviate the regulatory crisis neighborhood restaurants continue to face in California.

This is accomplished in part because AB 1915 streamlines like-for-like equipment swaps by allowing them to be certified by a professional, foregoing the long delays and mandatory inspections that these swaps often require.

AB 1915 will also streamline other restaurant improvements after the next state building standard update, such as allowing takeout-only restaurants to operate without customer restrooms, allowing additional patio space to be installed without providing additional restrooms, and other common-sense updates.

Please use the tool attached to urge your Senator to vote "YES" on AB 1915 when it comes before them.

Thank you,

CRA Government Affairs Team
