The CRA
Tell the Assembly - Help Stop $78 Billion in Fees!

Dear Restaurant Friends,

As many of you already know, SB 54 – The Extended Producer Responsibility Act will impose catastrophic costs on many sectors of the California economy, including restaurants, farmers, dairy producers, food and beverage producers, manufacturers, grocers, retailers, salons, and many more.

We do not object to the concept of an Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) program- and we have proactively engaged at every turn- but we do object to this specific EPR program, as do most industries, some environmental groups, and segments of the organized labor community.

Given the $78 billion price tag that California businesses and consumers will have to absorb, and even the program administrators' admission that they cannot meet SB 54's mandates, the CRA and a multi-industry coalition are in high gear, lobbying the state legislature to PAUSE and repair the program in the remaining days of the legislative session.

All of us collectively can develop something that is good for the environment, the economy, and consumers.

We need your help to make this happen.

Your state legislators — specifically your state Assembly members — need to hear your voice and see that without an SB 54 pause, they will have failed you and every Californian. Lawmaker support for this "pause" is growing, and your help will improve that momentum.

Failure to act on the legislature's part will raise costs for every single family – all for a program that is currently slated to fail.

Please use the link and take one minute to send a pre-written letter to your state legislators telling them – PAUSE SB 54.

Thank you,

CRA Government Affairs
