The team would like to bring an urgent matter to your attention, given our recent meetings with LA County Environmental Health and with Individual Board of Supervisors' offices.
The Los Angeles County Environmental Health Division (EH) is proposing increases to health permitting, plan check, and service fees. In the most extreme cases, resulting in 40-50% rate hikes.
Apart from the steep increases, EH also wants to do the following:
The Division plans to bring these increases and changes before the Board of Supervisors on an undisclosed November date for a vote. If approved, they would go into effect one month later, with no phase-in schedule for increases – or outreach to the business community.
The team will continue to keep you engaged on developments regarding this proposal. However, we need your help.
Please take one minute to send a pre-written letter to your supervisor, asking them to reject this proposal and direct EH to engage in meaningful stakeholder engagement.
Thank you,
