Thank you to all those who’ve sent messages to their supervisors so far.
Thanks to your engagement and amplification of the CRA’s advocacy, the MEHKO proposal has been pushed back to a future hearing in December. The CRA Government Affairs team has been meeting directly with County Supervisors – and will continue to do so.
The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors will likely meet on December 8th to discuss a Microenterprise Home Kitchen Ordinance (MEHKO) proposal that would allow home kitchens and backyard restaurants to operate without proper food, safety, and planning considerations.
The Board will meet at 700 H Street Suite 1450 Sacramento, CA 95814.
Once we receive confirmation on the time of the upcoming vote and hearing of the Board of Supervisors, the team asks that you please join us in opposition to the MEHKO proposal – and the double standard that it sets.
If you can attend, you can specifically ask the Board of Supervisors
Please also take a moment and use the link below to submit a comment to your County Supervisor, opposing the MEHKO pilot program until hazardous waste, labor practices, and food safety concerns are addressed.
Thank you,
CRA Government Affairs
