Support Paul's Law 2.0 for Seizure Safe Schools in New Jersey
Paul's Law (S. 4141) was signed into law in January 2020 and requires all school personnel to be trained in Seizure Recognition and First Aid.  Additionally, if a school bus driver transports a student with epilepsy or a seizure disorder, the driver will be provided information about the student and receive training. The law also mandates that Seizure Action Plans are submitted annually for any student with epilepsy or a seizure disorder.

Now, A. 2255/S. 2376 would amend and strengthen Paul's Law by requiring school personnel to be trained every 5 years. Instituting a frequency for training will ensure that school personnel receive the most up-to-date information available that reflects current research and best practices. We need your help to keep the bill moving forward. Urge your policymakers to support this critical legislation! We strongly encourage you to share your own personal experience as a member of the epilepsy community.
