FRA Demand Answers
Our organization is deeply concerned about the Department of Veterans Affairs’ plan to eliminate approximately 80,000 jobs, which could severely impact the delivery of healthcare and benefits to veterans. These cuts threaten the VA’s capacity to serve those who have sacrificed for our country, including many veteran employees who may be affected. The lack of transparency about these reductions demands immediate attention.

We urge you to contact your Congressional Representative and the VA to demand answers to critical questions about this plan:

Which specific roles or job categories within the VA are targeted for elimination? Are these cuts primarily administrative, medical, support staff, or a combination?

How will the loss of 80,000 employees affect the VA’s ability to provide timely healthcare, benefits processing, and other services in the short and long term? What plans are in place to mitigate disruptions?

What percentage of the 80,000 positions targeted for elimination are held by veterans, and how will these cuts impact the veteran workforce and their families?

Veterans and their families rely on the VA for essential services, and any reduction in staffing could lead to delays and diminished care. Please ask your legislators to investigate these proposed cuts and press the VA for clear, detailed responses to ensure veterans’ needs remain a priority.
