Bridge to Prosperity Pilot Program
The "cliff effect" occurs when a small increase in income leads to a disproportionate loss of benefits, ultimately leaving a person worse off financially than before the wage increase. The cliff effect keeps families in the cycle of poverty and prevents career growth. The Bridge to Prosperity Program is a three-year pilot with 100 participants, bringing those who have been hit hardest by the pandemic into career-advancing positions. We will do this by eliminating cliff effects using a “cash bridge” payment in new ways to support economic mobility for working families earning low wages.
