The Department of Homeland Security was shutdown for a record number of days. This follows an earlier government shutdown all of which impacted business travel. GBTA is supporting the Keep America Flying Act – H.R. 5851 & S. 3031 The bipartisan bills provide funding for both TSA personnel and FAA employees. Provides continuing appropriations to pay air traffic controllers, essential Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) employees, and certain Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employees if regular funding lapses. Passage of this will remove the incentive of Congress to use business travel/leisure travel as leverage to work out the differences in total government funding.
