Oppose New Nebraska Taxes on Fitness
What Happened: The Nebraska Legislature has introduced a bill that would impose a sales tax increase on fitness facility memberships. The legislature is still determining the exact sales tax percentage.

Industry Impact: This bill will directly impact fitness facility operators’ bottom lines and reduce dues revenue. If passed, this bill would create significant financial burdens for our industry. It would also create operational and administrative burdens that will strain facility resources.

What’s Next: The Health & Fitness Association (HFA) is engaging with the legislature to halt the bill from further consideration and seek to exempt the industry from the proposal as it is being considered.

How You Can Help: Take action and email your elected officials urging them to halt the bill and support exempting the health and fitness industry from NE LB 648.
