So much to be thankful for!

As this year draws to a close, I am humbled by all the prayers and support we have received over the past year.  Truly, I am so grateful to you.

Washington, DC 2021

I've been to Washington twice this year, to be a voice for you at the Nation's Capitol.  Each time, I've prayed for you, rejoiced with you and sought guidance from the Lord on each and every conversation with the congressional staff I spoke with.  (The photo is me with my Family Policy Council counterparts from Wisconsin (Julaine Appling) and Texas (Jonathan Saenz).

The coming year will bring new challenges and greater opportunities, so I'm looking forward to what the Lord has in store for me.  Mahalo for walking this journey with Hawaii Family Forum.  I love you all!

  2022 Legislative Calendar Set

Sharing this information received from the legislature:

Senate President Kouchi and House Leader Scott Saiki set the 2022 Legislative Calendar (link). The calendar is a full 60-day session, like pre-pandemic. With all of the reduced restrictions, they are anticipating that the State Capitol will be opening soon. The good news is that they will also be continuing to use video conferencing technology to enable remote meetings and testimony.

Also, in preparation for the 2022 Legislature, the capitol.hawaii.gov website is being updated this weekend and may be unavailable intermittently. Moving forward, to access the information for the 2021 and prior sessions, please go to the archive page.

There is also information below about the following:

  • Resources for homeowners and business owners who were affected by this week's Kona Low storm.
  • I and 45 other members of the House of Representatives called on the U.S. Navy to decommission the Red Hill Bulk Fuel Storage Facility.
  • The U.S. Navy commissioned its newest warship, the USS Daniel Inouye.
