  TAKE ACTION!
  2 Things To Do

Title IX Rule

  • ICYMI, the U.S. Department of Education's dreaded Title IX rule has been proposed in the Federal Register.
  • The Title IX rule redefines "sex" to include "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" in funding for kindergarten-college.
  • The rule creates major problems including weakening parental rights, violation of privacy in intimate facilities, forced use of preferred pronouns, promoting the LGBT curriculum in schools, adhering to the abortion agenda, and more.
  • To read and submit comments on the rule, click here.
  • The deadline to comment on this rule is September 12th and I strongly recommend your comment is submitted before 5:00 pm EST.
  • Feel free to use language from FPA's Action Alert here!
  • Read the USCCB Concerns here.

1557 Rule

  • The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced a proposed rule on Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to replace the 2020 regulations issued during the Trump Administration.
  • Among other things, the proposed rule would force health care entities that participate in federal health programs to pay for or provide abortion and transgender services.
  • The rule will be officially published on August 4, 2022 and will have a 60-day comment period starting August 4th.

Public comments on the NPRM are due 60 days after publication of the NPRM in the Federal Register.  The Department will also be conducting a Tribal consultation meeting on August 31, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. To participate, you must register in advance at https://www.zoomgov.com/meeting/register/vJIsfu-rqzksEl2T8gUp_lDrWBqkU0223CY

The Notice on Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) may be viewed or downloaded at: https://www.federalregister.gov/public-inspection/2022-16217/nondiscrimination-in-health-programs-and-activities.

A fact sheet on the NPRM is available in English and 16 languages at: https://www.hhs.gov/civil-rights/for-individuals/section-1557/index.html.

PLEASE NOTE:  As always- the more comments submitted to the rule proposals, the more the process is slowed down. In addition, the more personalized the comment is, the better!  Because the comments are accepted only as an online in-form process, we cannot make it easy like we normally do.
