Gun violence continues to mercilessly take the lives of our loved ones in every city across America. Congress must act to protect the lives of our children, loved ones, and community members by passing gun reform measures, which can include a national assault weapons ban, expanding background checks, mandating secure gun storage, and closing the gun show loophole.
Gun violence claims the lives of thousands of Americans every year, and, according to disturbing data from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, firearms continue to be the leading cause of death for children and teens in the United States. As a country, we have utterly failed to even protect our own children from preventable gun violence.
A majority of Americans support policy reform on guns—we must put lives and safety first. We must demand that our elected officials in Congress take meaningful steps towards securing the safety of our communities and ensuring that these senseless, preventable killings are stopped. We shouldn’t have to think twice about the safety of going to the grocery store, or the bank, or sending our kids to school. Your elected officials need to hear from you.
It’s time for Congress to take action to stop gun violence. Can you take two minutes to reach out to your elected officials in Congress to urge them to pass gun reform legislation?
