Tell Congress to STOP the DC takeover!

DC is currently experiencing a hostile takeover by the hands of Trump. We must do what we can to fight authoritarian occupation before it spreads. Representative Jamie Raskin (MD-8) has introduced a resolution to put a stop to the federal government’s occupation of our capital, and it needs our support.

The President’s hostile and militarized takeover of our nation’s capital is egregious. Under the guise of ‘fighting crime’, the President has occupied an American city and is terrorizing its residents. It is deeply concerning for our democracy - and there’s a risk that this tactic will be used more widely to intimidate the American people.

The more than 700,000 people living in DC - a higher population than some states - do not have the necessary power to decide if and when the national guard is deployed in their community.. In this pivotal moment, they need you to loudly raise your voice and stand in solidarity with the residents of DC and use your power to fight the authoritarianism that has been unleashed on DC’s streets by declaring an end to this manufactured emergency.

As humanists and as Americans, we’re not going to stand idly by while a narcissistic wannabe dictator destroys our democracy, replaces it with White Christian Nationalism, brutalizes members of our community, and uses our citizen soldiers as pawns.

Take just one minute NOW to contact your elected officials in Congress: tell them to do everything in their power to stop the authoritarian takeover of our capitol and its residents!
