“We are relieved to inform you the Pritzker Administration has decided to postpone any reduction of funded Direct Support Professionals (DSP) hours from the disability community group home system.
We are continuing negotiations on this issue and are encouraged by a new scenario being considered within the Ligas Rates Oversight Committee. While details are still being discussed, we remain determined to do what we can to ensure persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities residing in group homes have the resources they need for person-centered services and supports.
We appreciate the Pritzker Administration’s good faith efforts to postpone any systemwide reductions while negotiations continue. We cannot overstate how helpful the support from a bipartisan group of legislators has been in the efforts to preserve DSP hours. We sincerely thank you for your dedication and selfless service.
We look forward to continuing to keep you updated and to work with you on the best outcome we can provide for the thousands of people we serve and the families counting on us to get this correct.”
