Some in Congress are pushing for legislation that would jeopardize credit card rewards and affordable access to credit. The Durbin-Marshall credit card mandate and the 10 Percent Credit Card Interest Rate Cap Act would have devastating consequences for consumers and banks alike.
The Durbin-Marshall credit card mandate would force card-issuing financial institutions to choose among routing networks set by the Federal Reserve, rather than choose networks that may offer the best customer experience and security, and the 10 Percent Rate Cap Act would fundamentally disrupt the economics of this form of unsecured lending and millions of Americans would no longer be eligible for a credit card.
The results if these bills pass?
Ask your lawmakers to reject these misguided mandates and oppose the so-called "Credit Card Competition Act" and the 10 Percent Interest Rate Cap Act.
