Educate State Legislators About DD Property Tax Funding

Missouri legislators are concerned about issues with the property tax assessment and levy process.  Please reach out to your local legislators to let them know how tax levy funding is used to support people with developmental disabilities in local communities.  

  • SB40 boards are local county entities funded by a dedicated property tax levy.
  • These revenues are used to support services for individuals with developmental disabilities (DD) across Missouri.
  • County SB40 boards are accountable to a local board and flexible in addressing needs specific to their county.
  • County SB40 boards are subject to the Hancock Amendment, which limits growth to no more than 5% each year.
