Advocacy Alert: MassCPAs Support for an additional pathway to CPA licensure
We need your help to advance critical legislation that will strengthen the CPA profession in Massachusetts. H.352/S.209 – An Act relative to modernizing the pathway to becoming a certified public accountant provides an additional, yet equally rigorous, pathway to CPA licensure that will help address the profession’s workforce shortage while maintaining the high standards required of CPAs.

The bill introduces an additional pathway to licensure, allowing candidates to obtain a CPA license by completing:

  • A bachelor’s degree with required accounting and business coursework
  • Two years of relevant work experience
  • Successful completion of the CPA Exam within 30 months

This proposal preserves the current 150-credit-hour pathway while offering an additional pathway that prioritizes both education and hands-on experience.

To ensure this bill moves forward, we need your voice. By filling out this quick form, you will send a letter directly to the Joint Committee on Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure urging them to support and advance this legislation.

Your support is critical in helping Massachusetts remain competitive and ensuring the long-term strength of the CPA profession.

Thank you for your time and advocacy!
