There are three things to keep in mind when writing a letter or making a call to a member of Congress:
HEALTH (political health) – How would your suggestion for policy reform impact your congressional district or state? How many people are or will be impacted by current or proposed policy reforms?
HEAD – Share your reasoning and arguments for or against a policy.
HEART – Share a personal story (yours or that of another advocate, with their permission) that has been impacted by an unhelpful policy or will be impacted by better legislation.
Use the blank form to write your own letter, which will be addressed to your United States senators and the congressperson representing your district.
