The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has been shut down for more than five weeks, forcing more than one hundred thousand employees to work without pay.
NARFE is urging Congress to engage in good faith bipartisan negotiations over the Homeland Security appropriations bills to end the partial government shutdown. Pending an agreement, NARFE urges the paying of federal employees during the shutdown and/or funding for the noncontroversial functions of DHS, such as transportation security, the Coast Guard, and emergency management.
NARFE is encouraging you to join our call to encourage Congress to end the partial government shutdown!
